Dr. Marc-Andre Gagnon's report, The Economic Case for Universal Pharmacare, has been cited in a recent Macleans article arguing for a national drug plan. The article, written by Ken MacQueen, states that a lack of universal coverage combined with some of the highest drug costs in the world have created a system of inequitable access to medicines in Canada.

PPRC member Dr. Michael Law's research was also quoted in the article. Dr. Law did a study that proved that there was a huge potential for cost savings if other provinces followed Ontario's recently-implemented model of only paying generic drug prices up to 25% of the cost of brand name equivalents.
