Ms. Stafinski holds an MSc in epidemiology and is a PhD candidate at the University of Alberta (topic: methods for eliciting public values for resource allocation decision-making on cancer drugs and other technologies). She is co-PI on an HTA capacity-building grant from the Alberta government, and was previously Research Associate, Institute of Health Economics. She has designed and conducted studies on variations in provincial formularies, on centralized drug reviews processes around the world, on innovative funding mechanisms for promising drugs and other technologies, on public values in resource allocation decisions making in health care, and on issues around stem cell therapies, including direct-to-consumer advertising.
